Metabolica Health is a research-forward bioscience company innovating in the fields of nutraceuticals, probiotics and pharmaceuticals. Our approach is inspired by the microbiome: Probiotics that change the architecture of the gut microbiome and are designed to optimize the production of health-promoting bioactive compounds; and drug candidates that are supercharged enhanced versions of naturally occurring microbiome metabolites.
Our most advanced drug project is focussed on restoring and improving the body’s ability to produce insulin and rebalance metabolism. Unlike current treatments, such as GLP-1 agonists, our approach directly targets the health and function of the pancreas and well as the capacity of cells to respond to insulin. By targeting the disease's biological root, the Metabolica approach regenerates insulin-producing pancreatic β-cells and enhances systemic metabolism. This will lead to weight loss, improved liver health and glucose management.
Backed by peer-reviewed publications, patents in the United States, Canada and the European Union, and global academic partnerships including the University of Paris and Kyoto University, Metabolica is building a scalable therapeutic platform with broad clinical potential and clear translational focus.
In addition to ACREOS™, our drug discovery and development program, we are concurrently developing science based first-in-class next generation probiotic and postbiotic natural health products for applications in metabolic health and other areas.
Metabolica is also advancing holistic nutriceutical plus probiotic products to ensure that the best research-backed approaches are available in a single powerful format for those seeking natural products to support metabolic health, stress resilience, and other areas. The first release of these products is scheduled for Q4 2026.
